Preliminary recommendations defined, Mayor Kordić addressed the Assembly

On Saturday, 24 July 2021, the third consecutive meeting session of the members of the Citizens’ Assembly of Mostar was held.

The Mayor of the City of Mostar, Mario Kordić, addressed the participants via video message at the very beginning of the Assembly session. On this occasion, he announced that on Tuesday, 27 July 2021 the session of the City Council is going to discuss public companies of the City of Mostar, including the situation in utility companies in the city and their further development. During this meeting, the participants had the opportunity to continue with drafting recommendations. A total of 26 recommendations was formulated, and in the preliminary voting all 26 recommendations received the support of more than 80% of Assembly participants. Recommendations were developed within five thematic areas:

1. Landscaping and use of public spaces and creation of new ones

2. Raising awareness and educating citizens

3. Reorganisation of public utility companies

4. Waste management

5. Institutionalisation of the Citizens’ Assembly as a legal framework for further action

Next weekend, 31 July, participants will have the opportunity to discuss with the city councillors about the preliminary recommendations and a final vote is expected. Recommendations arising from this process will be transmitted to the City Administration and the City Council of the City of Mostar.
