On 11 April 2023, the second out of four webinars on the topic How to organise Citizens’ Assembly was organised.

Topics of webinar were Recruitment and Sortition as a method, Principles of Recruitment, The Process of Recruiting (invitations, inclusiveness), The concept of a Representative Group, practical process of recruitment.

The participants of webinar were presented with experience of organizing Citizens’ Assembly of Mostar in 2021, and Citizens’ Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2022.

Webinars are organised by the Council of Europe, and are intended for representatives of the City of Mostar and Banja Luka, as well as for the representatives of Sarajevo and Modriča.

Cities Mostar and Banja Luka will be provided specific expert support by the Council of Europe Congress during this year, for the purpose of adopting new democratic approaches in order to organize Citizen’s Assemblies in the end of 2023.

By commissioning the second Citizens’ Assembly, the City of Mostar will further enhance transparency and inclusion of citizens in local public affairs.
