On 21 November 2022, the City of Mostar, with the financial support of the Council of Europe, organized a workshop for primary and secondary school students. The students had the opportunity to learn how they can make Mostar cleaner and more beautiful. They learned about: the proper sorting, disposal and recycling of waste; the electronic and textile waste; the importance of green areas in urban areas and the maintenance of hygiene in public areas. Moreover, this activity, encouraged the critical thinking and the participation of young people in decision-making processes. This workshop is realized as part of the Action Plan for the implementation of the recommendations of the Citizens’ Assembly, which was adopted by the Mostar City Council in November 2021. In addition to this activity, the City of Mostar is currently arranging the courtyards of two elementary schools, completing the process of public procurement of new waste bins, containers for electrical and textile waste, and implementing a campaign to raise awareness about environmental protection.
